Halftime?

Halftime?

That’s right, the year 2017 is half over. Hmmm, how are we doing? What has surprised you or challenged you? How are the New Year resolutions coming along? (smile) Are you getting through the rough spots or smoothing the jagged edges?

Hopefully you are ahead in the game. If not, all the coaches have a speech or an adjustment that motivates the team to push ahead, stay the course, or stop what they are doing that causes setbacks.

So it is with our natural and spiritual lives. Habits form in both worlds for us. Quite easily as matter of fact. Ha, just try to break a negative habit and you can find yourself in a battle.  Lose the weight, save the money, or finish the course all takes discipline. Summer time means a different menu, i.e. brats on the grill, grad parties, weddings, the picnics, reunions, and ice cream. Enjoyable to say the least, and needed for a balanced life. However, there are some things that we can slack off on and never notice. Others can be costly.

Remember, we have the second half of 2017! Church services, devotions, and bible study are the staples that help us have “enough” to finish. Seed unplanted or unwatered stays dormant never producing the fruit that sustains. Decisions that never get made by you are decided by default. Someone else has the last word.

Summed up, this coach says it may be half-time but you are still in the game!

Let’s finish 2017 in triumph!

Summer schedule begins this Sunday at 9:30 am. Pastor Cathy and I wrap up our series on Joy. First Sunday is our Communion Service. Don’t miss, it is made for you.

See you in church!

Pastor Greg
