Leftovers

Leftovers

It is one thing about the Holidays. Ham, turkey, beef, gravy, potatoes, cookies, candies, and on and on we could go. They are there…revisit, get creative, and use your imagination…finally get rid of the leftovers. I have had enough. Well, now that I‘ve got that out of my system!

The end-of-the-year feels like leftovers. In 2016, I still have leftovers and I sure wish I had some “do-overs.” LOL. You too?

This Sunday is “get rid of the leftovers Sunday.” Rare is it, when New Year’s Day is on a Sunday affording me the opportunity to start the year fresh with the Lord from His house and Table. My prayer is, “search me oh, Lord and see…” As we go to the “communion” table Paul wrote, “Examine me…”

As much as I love to linger over the memories and moments that life grants, I need to keep moving. The call is “upward” and “pressing on.” Jesus warned us about bitterness and forgiveness by illustrating the leftovers through the sycamore tree of the Middle East. The root system is extensive and deep. Wood from this tree is preferred in building caskets. After hearing this, the disciples asked the Lord to increase their faith. No wonder.

As we close one year and move into the next…let’s leave the leftovers behind.

Sunday New Year’s Day Service is at 10:15 and we will be sensitive to your holiday schedules. Remember, no Sunday School this Sunday.

Wednesday Night Service is the beginning of our Prayer Week. Wednesday thru Friday at 6:30pm we will be teaching and praying for the Lord’s best to our lives and ministries.

Our prayer for you over the holidays is that you have been Blessed and safe.

See You in Church,

Pastor Greg
