New Year’s Greetings!

New Year’s Greetings!

As a child, a year’s passing took an eternity…not so anymore. We all seem to relate to that observation. Whether the desire to linger over a moment longer comes with age…or we are living at a faster pace is fact, we are nudged into the faster lane by life itself.

What I enjoy most about the New in New Year is the “re-set” or “re-boot” it affords us. Challenges met with new vigor, imagination or adjustment seem worthy of a second attempt. Prayerfully your calendar is filled by joyous occasions and memories made for pleasant recall and refreshing!

One thing that helps this pace of life we live is our “devices”… smart, android, iPad, or iPhone, pcs or tablet. Google, Alexa or Siri have the world of information/interests and reservations at our command (at least they should). However…I found help in an unexpected way when my iPhone showed me how much “face time” I accrued during the week. The realization of the amount of time I spent lead me to think about the Lord and His priorities of seeking first His kingdom. He showed me my posture while on a device…I am looking down…rather bowed to the “device” yet I know where my help comes from…

Psalm 121:1-2 New King James Version (NKJV)
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

My device helps me for sure…yet limited in many ways. The deep, sound, reliable help comes only from “looking up”.

So my goal is to equal my “face-time” with my “prayer time” where I am looking up!

Let me take this opportunity to invite you to our three nights of prayer, Wednesday thru Friday, January 2-4, at 6:30 pm. It will set the course for the New Year. Psalm 121 is an amazing passage unfolding promises that can happen when we look up.

Pastor Cathy and I wish you an amazing year…full of grace and truth!

See You in Church,

Pastor Greg
