Do The Math!

Do The Math!

How often do we underestimate our life?  Especially when a season is at a fast pace or extremely tedious and mundane.  Often we fail to pause long enough to think through the decisions, emotions, attitudes and consequences that test us.  Then we do something really toxic…we compare and complain.

The Hymn writer penned…”Count your Blessings”.  Number them, one by one, you will be surprised at what God has done!  That is magnificently true, having the ability to adjust and transform your expressions. When I begin to “see” how gracious God has been to me, it renders me Thankful.

Thanksgiving is perhaps the most muddled of holidays.  We are often on pace with the black Friday events, football games, and growing tired of the Christmas music repeated.  We complain.  Yikes!

Thankfulness can be contagious and is a good thing to “catch” this fall.  Want some help?  How about thanking a veteran, or first responder?  The coaches, teachers, waitresses, nurses and pastors in your life are often overlooked.  Or maybe the boss and company that signs your check or watches over your investments.  We take for granted so many things, places and events in life.

Let’s not miss the joy that comes when we express gratitude for some of the smallest things in our day!  The psalmist wrote… I will enter His gates with Thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter His courts with Praise!  I will say this is the day that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice for He has made me glad!

It begins in the heart.

Counting…or doing the math!

See you in Church,

Pastor Greg

P.S.
Pastor Chris will be our guest Sunday November 17th. We celebrate Thanksgiving with our Harvest Dinner immediately following the service. Please sign up at the Red Desk for an item you can bring.
