Wanting More…

Wanting More…

“One” of the blessings of Thanksgiving is “remembering”… Like revisiting a taste, hearing a voice, seeing a smile, or smelling a fragrance that brings the past into the present instantly.

I have had several memories to nourish my affections and dreams this past week. It is one of the reasons the week in the north woods keeps me returning. It still leaves me “wanting more.”

Deer camp offered pouring down rain, high winds, loud claps of thunder, hail, and finally softly falling snow leaving everything white and content. Punctuated with a bear, eagle, owl, coyote, and does…the “buck” remained elusive; I will return. It is here where I “think,” “pray,” and “dream” uninterrupted. Cell service is limited at best (adjust/improvise) and conversations are few but precious.

Then the refreshing comes. New Memories are contained and tucked away awaiting my return; they help me focus on the present. The calling, purpose, and the mission of living life bigger than before, returns.

Paul’s letters refer to his “remembrance” of Jesus, angels, saints and sinners, grace and truth, heaven, the furtherance of the gospel, and of course, prayer, for those he loved. He wanted more…So do I.

Awaiting to see you this Sunday in Church, wanting more…

Pastor Greg
