Remember…

It is the time of year we remember those who have paid the ultimate price for something we continue to take for granted…our freedom.

Remember freedom is costly. It doesn’t come free.  Someone laid their life on the line for the life you and I live.  In particular, we remember those who never picked their lives back up.   Take a moment… remember, thanking God for all you enjoy because of freedom.  You might want to take it a step further and give to a family or ministry that blesses the families of veterans that paid the ultimate price.

A closer look into freedom takes us to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Grace is costly.  We receive it without payment, by humbling ourselves accepting this extremely costly gift by our faith.

When the Lord heard the cries of Israel in Egypt under the cruel oppression of the Pharaoh, He delivered them with the “blood of little lambs.”  It was the sacrifice or payment for their escape. The blood protected and made way for the mass exodus.  John the Baptist, upon seeing Jesus’ ministry begin declared, “behold the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world!”

Jesus laid His life down willingly so “grace” could gift us with salvation (i.e., freedom).  We, too, take grace for granted.  Just like many today think we deserve freedom, so we deserve grace. Grace is no less costly than freedom… the cost?  Blood.  So let’s remember!

One more item to remember — the first Sunday in June begins our Summer Schedule. Worship is at 9:30am. We will have you on your way to enjoy your summer days in no time (Smile). Christian Education will resume in the fall.  So when you are away, remember you can get your gifts in the storehouse online.  Thank you for using the donate button.

Remember…

See You in Church!
