Help Wanted…

Help Wanted…

Part-time positions available. Flexible hours. Work at home…

Many employers fill positions with people on a part-time basis. Limited benefits, shorter work weeks, and half the effort (on theirs and those whom they hire).  (…this is not a critique on part-time work.)

Did you know God is not hiring part-timers? But you would think the way we live, He has the corner on the market. Just a question…how much do I do for God part-time, or half- hearted, if not in thought, actions?

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (1)

The definition of sacrifice is a total surrender, a complete release of our lives unto Him! Translated, it results in total energy spent on serving Him!

Nothing part-time, nothing mentioned about flexible hours, or any benefits. Rather complete and delirious “service” to Him is considered reasonable when employed by God. You may be saying, “I’m glad I didn’t answer that ad.” I’m not so sure David agrees with you…

Psalm 27:4
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple. (2)

At one point he even says to be a door keeper isn’t a bad job in the house!

I’ve just been thinking about the way we often slip into habits and lifestyles that have us serving God part-time!

He never went to the Cross with a part-time anything! I want to live like that…holding nothing back! Reasonable…? I think so!
