The Communion Table……

The Communion Table……

…helps you recover! Did you know the Lord wants to restore to you what you have lost? It is the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy; Jesus calls him a thief (John 10).

As a church we traditionally celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. Throughout the year I will emphasize a unique aspect of the Lord’s invitation to, “come unto Me.” We welcome all, as He did. So much happens in a moment orchestrated by the Holy Spirit when we “remember Him.”  Even our children, under the supervision of their parent’s instruction, are welcome to participate.

This Sunday our focus is on recovery from that which has been taken by the thief…our peace, health, finances, innocence, or whatever is dear to you! The Bible is our text book. Look for a moment at these examples of recovery:

  • Abraham recovered everything that the enemy stole from Lot (Genesis 14).
  • David recovered everything that the enemy stole from Ziklag (1 Sam. 30).
  • God’s law says that a thief must pay back even more than what he stole (Exodus 22).
  • Job was blessed with double of everything Satan had stolen from him (Job 42).
  • In the book of Joel…God promised to restore to us even years of the enemy’s plunder (Joel 2).

Has the devil stolen something from your life? Your health? Your marriage? Your children? Your job? Your finances? Your vision? Your peace of mind?

Jesus is our “redeemer” and “restorer” of our lives. I want to remind and invite you to    “the communion table” this Sunday. We will be remembering those in our nation that have lost so much in this past Thursday’s tragedy.

Sunday School for all ages at 9 am and worship service is 10:15.

Be blessed,

Pastor Greg
