Are You Thirsty?

Are You Thirsty?

How About Hungry?

Have you noticed how busy the water-bottle/Gatorade brigade is at every time-out on the football field? Or when a player comes to the side lines, the guy with the bottle shows up and gives them a squirt?

The reason?…is to keep the player in play or at least able to play.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6

Before and after the game, calorie intake is huge. Why? How long could a player last in the game?

These guys eat, not only because they want to win, but their goal is to win the Super-Bowl!

I am speaking on “Why I should be Filled with the Holy Spirit.” First things first: Why? Because I want to! I need the “want” to be big enough, so “I ask” to be filled.

“You know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

If I am in the game…I am thirsty, I am hungry, I need to be filled!

When I am being picky and push myself away from the meal, something is wrong. I need, I want to be filled. Jesus promises rivers! That means I thirst for righteousness. Or perhaps I’ve just been on the bench and haven’t played.

In a world that is in so many ways unrighteous, I need to be filled and refueled everyday. I burn a lot of calories staying righteous!

So how thirsty and hungry are you? If you are in this to win it…I know someone who can get you there!
