In My Devotions…

In My Devotions…

The Lord reminded me of things that I know, yet neglect.

Hebrews 2:1…we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.

and

Hebrews 2:3…how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?

I was stirred to action because I know when the Lord has instructed and I have received a life sustaining principle it is up to me to continue in its truth.

In particular we have authority as believers. It is a God-given gift to sustain, procure, establish, and enforce victory in my life. If I do not operate in my authority, everything in my life suffers and I waste precious time recovering from some demon inspired distraction.

Take sickness for example. Every little twitch, tick, and cough doesn’t mean I am going to die from some weird hell-inspired disease. But I could. If I continue to nurse those nagging symptoms and believe the “chatter” in my head that has me breathing my last breath and running up the medical bills. Immediately, I need to use that authority casting down and out each and every symptom that is occurring.

Finances are another fertile area of attack requiring my authority to be sharp. The Lord has already said He would supply my need according to His riches. So as I was reminded of being taught that I do not need to pray for money. Rather declare the amount needed to meet the need and “call” it in. Command it to come forth, bind the enemy and loose the “ministering spirits” and say go, bring it to us.

The principle is to take that authority in faith, believe it, declare it, and receive it!  Please do not misunderstand…when going through health or financial issues, faith can seem to be far out of reach or reason. But that is my point…let’s not neglect so great a salvation. Often we fall back on old patterns of worry and fretting. Using our God given authority over Satan’s tactics is the starting point in any earthly battle!

1 Thessalonians 2:18 New American Standard Bible (NASB):
For we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, more than once—and yet Satan hindered us.

Many times it is exactly that…Satan hindering us…(breaking up the road) before us. So let’s pay closer attention to the truths that save us.
